The AI operating system for the surgery center

Mira runs the work around every case, so your ORs stay full, each case's margin is clear and the facility claim goes out clean.

What the administrator and the CFO watch

Case readiness

Every case on the board is checked before the day of surgery: authorization, history and physical, consent and implants. Gaps surface while there is still time to close them.

OR utilization

Block time is tracked by surgeon and room. Time that will go unused is flagged early, so it can be released and filled.

Contribution margin per case

What the facility is paid for a case, less the implants, supplies and labor it used. Seen by case type, surgeon and payer.

The facility claim is its own claim

One case produces several bills. Mira's facility RCM is built for the one your surgery center sends.

What Mira ASC bills

The facility claim

  • The surgery center's part of the case: the operating room, nursing, recovery, supplies and implants
  • Each payer's facility rules applied before the claim goes out
  • Implants carried to the claim where the payer pays for them separately
  • Denials worked and appealed, with payments checked against the contract

Billed separately

Professional claims

The surgeon and the anesthesia team bill for their own services on their own claims, usually through their own billing. Mira keeps the facility claim separate from those, so each one is coded and paid on its own rules.

Works with the system you already run

HST PathwaysSurgical Information SystemsProvation

Both ways, where there is an API

Mira reads cases, schedules and documents from your EHR and writes notes, codes and statuses back to it.

Automation where there is no API

Mira works the same screens your staff use, so the systems without an interface are covered too.

No rip-and-replace

Your staff keep the system they know. Mira works alongside it.

How onboarding works

  1. Assessment

We map your current EHR, scheduling, billing and inventory systems, and how a case moves through them.

  2. Data access

We set up access to the systems Mira reads from and writes to, under a business associate agreement.

  3. Workflow configuration

Your payers, case types, readiness checklists, implant list and roles are set up in Mira.

  4. Pilot

Mira starts on a defined set of cases beside your team, and we adjust what doesn't fit.

  5. Training

Short sessions by role: front desk, pre-op, OR, business office and quality.

  6. Go-live support

A named Mira team owns the exceptions through go-live and after it.

Mira for surgery centers: common questions

Mira ASC works with your surgery center's existing EHR and handles surgical documentation, OR scheduling, the facility claim, implant cost tracking and ASC-21 outcomes reporting, with a named Mira team through onboarding.

Frequently asked questions

01Does Mira replace our ASC's EHR?
No. Mira works with the EHR your surgery center already runs. It connects both ways where the system offers an API and automates the screens where it does not, so your staff keep the system they know.
02How is facility billing different from professional billing?
The facility claim is billed by the surgery center for its part of the case: the operating room, nursing, supplies and implants. Surgeons and anesthesia bill their own professional services on separate claims. Mira's facility RCM works the facility claim, with each payer's facility rules and the implants used in the case.
03What does Mira do for the THA/TKA PRO-PM (ASC-21)?
CMS requires surgery centers to report ASC-21 for eligible hip and knee replacements starting with the 2028 reporting period, which affects the 2031 payment determination. Mira collects the pre- and post-operative patient-reported outcome surveys, follows up with patients, and prepares the submission. Your staff review it and stay in charge of what is submitted.
04How does Mira handle implants and charge capture?
Implants and devices used in a case are tracked to that case, so they reach the facility claim where the payer pays for them and their cost counts against the case's margin. Supplies are costed to the case the same way.
05How does onboarding work?
We start with an assessment of your current systems, then set up data access, configure your workflows, run a pilot on a defined set of cases, train your staff by role, and support go-live. A named Mira team owns the exceptions throughout.
06Is Mira HIPAA compliant? Do you sign a BAA?
Yes. Mira is HIPAA compliant and signs a business associate agreement with every customer before any patient data is shared.
